Homeopathy
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy treats the whole individual by strengthening the body’s defense mechanism with substances selected for their energy-giving properties. It was founded and refined by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann beginning in 1790. Based on his observations, he formulated the principle “Similia Similbus Curentur” or “like cures like.” This Law of Similars states that a given substance in small quantities can cure in a diseased person the symptoms that it produces in large amounts in a healthy person.
Homeopathy is essentially an “energy medicine”. It is based on the premise that all dis-ease is the result of a disturbance of our vital force.
Once strengthened with homeopathic remedies only the vital force itself can initiate and bring about a speedy return to complete health on all levels. Homeopathy treats the whole person, not the disease, by stimulating the body to heal itself.
What is a Homeopathic Remedy?
Remedies are made from plants, animals, and minerals by alcoholic extractions and serial dilutions followed by potentizations. They are non-toxic and safe for children, adults and animals. As the remedy becomes more dilute, it becomes increasingly more energetic and has a deeper effect.
Remedies are made under strict regulations by the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia. They are available in the form of pellets, granules, tablets or liquids.
Remedies are usually taken once, but can be repeated daily or as frequently as every 15 minutes. Coffee, mint, menthol, camphor, electric blankets, recreational drugs, and X-rays have been found to antidote the effects of homeopathic remedies.
How to Take Homeopathic Remedies
They should be placed under the tongue to dissolve slowly. It is not recommended to drink water with the remedy. Avoid handling the remedy with your hands; place it into the cap of the bottle, and pour it into the mouth. Do not eat, drink, brush teeth, chew gum, smoke, or take any other medicines for 30 minutes before or after taking remedy. This rule can be broken in emergencies.
